Intro to Multimedia: a look back, and forward

May 9, 2009

Be careful what you ask for! My purpose in taking this class was to become acquainted with and learn how to use at least some of the multitude of multimedia tools out there in the cloud for promoting my new book that will be coming out soon. I certainly found what I was looking for, and oh, so much more! In fact, the sheer volume was almost overwhelming. My one regret is that there just wasn’t enough time in the week to give many of the segments the attention I’d have liked. It was a little like being a kid in a candy store, with your Mom rushing you along to the lifesavers before you really had time to digest and appreciate all the chocolate opportunities. I guess that’s to be expected in a survey course like this. And I appreciate that we’ve acquired a solid foundation that we can use to take it from here. Still, a little adult supervision never hurts. So when will you be starting up the new specialty courses, Lisa? I’m ready when you are :-)

But for now, huge sincere thanks to Lisa and to all of you for making this class a superb combination of fun and learning. So long, farewell, and stay salubrious out there!

I teach Critical Apprec. of Photography, too, a kind of history of photog with a heavy dose of composition and appreciation thrown in, spring semester. I also teach a tech for pre-teachers course in fall.
