Be careful what you ask for! My purpose in taking this class was to become acquainted with and learn how to use at least some of the multitude of multimedia tools out there in the cloud for promoting my new book that will be coming out soon. I certainly found what I was looking for, and oh, so much more! In fact, the sheer volume was almost overwhelming. My one regret is that there just wasn’t enough time in the week to give many of the segments the attention I’d have liked. It was a little like being a kid in a candy store, with your Mom rushing you along to the lifesavers before you really had time to digest and appreciate all the chocolate opportunities. I guess that’s to be expected in a survey course like this. And I appreciate that we’ve acquired a solid foundation that we can use to take it from here. Still, a little adult supervision never hurts. So when will you be starting up the new specialty courses, Lisa? I’m ready when you are :-)

But for now, huge sincere thanks to Lisa and to all of you for making this class a superb combination of fun and learning. So long, farewell, and stay salubrious out there!

Hey, one last side trip before I get to my farewell blog post. Colbert had what I thought was a fascinating interview last night, with Dr. Mitchell Joachim, who envisions a very cool physical future. Check it out:

Pretty impressive, eh? Here’s a link to his website: terrefuge

I will miss a lot of things about this class, mostly all the fascinating new stuff I’m learning from you all, but I will absolutely NOT miss Blackboard! Not only is it unbearably cumbersome and slow, but it just disappeared my whole cheerleading message to Jesse, forcing me to start all over from the beginning! I know, I know, I should have written it in Word first, but it was late and I was lazy. OK, enough said. I will do a proper post tomorrow when I’ve recovered from my Blackboard snit. For now, I will give the exclamation points a rest and wish you all a good night.

Can you ever have too much Colbert? Or twitter? Not this week! Because The Week (my favorite news magazine) is totally in sync with our multimedia class. First, they also report the Ohio State University Study (Taking Stephen Colbert seriously), but they include several points of view (that’s why it’s my favorite), including one that The Globe writer was too polite to mention (and so am I). But that’s not all! In the same issue, there’s a brief (naturally!) piece about the future of twitter (The significance of twitter quitters). Enjoy :-)
